“I had a dream, and I met with a king. I sold crystal and crossed the desert. And, because the tribes declared war, I went to the well, seeking the alchemist. So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you.”
The Alchemist, Paulo Cohelo
These words, read by the groom with shiny eyes and a trembling voice preceded the vows in the amazing and romantic symbolic wedding of Marco and Ou.
I rarely saw and felt so much love, even though I couldn’t understand what the spouses said to each other – they spoke Chinese!
A love so strong to be felt by everyone even considered the linguistic barrier!
This wedding was also published by Wedding Wonderland, the most important Italian wedding blog, in an article called “Un rito simbolico per un matrimonio bilingue”
Here are the photos of Marco and Ou’s beautiful wedding. Enjoy 🙂

I’ve known Marco for many years and it was a unique honor to be his wedding photographer for his marriage to the beautiful Ou.
The spouses live and work in China. A couple of days before their wedding we had a couple photo session – I had already understood we would have had some serious fun!
Before starting to work as a photographer, I graduated in European Languages at the University of Padua. I speak English since I was five, and I speak a decent Spanish and German as well. Not being able to speak with Ou (who speaks Chinese only) was very strange for me first! Then, as the day went by, I understood something very important. You don’t need a common language to understand love…
Our day together started at La Favellina in the afternoon. After having set the last details with Pepo, the celebrant, the spouses got ready together, helping one another with infinite sweetness and love.
The ceremony was just amazing! Marco and Ou made the ceremony unique with a special ritual with colors, mixing the yellow and blue colors on a canvas to remember the day their lives united.
The vows moment was very moving, even though I hadn’t the slightest idea of what they were saying as they read it in Chinese! It was enough for me to see the sparkles in their eyes to understand how special they were…
After the ceremony we had a small couple session the woods next to the Favellina, the continued the party and the dinner.
A great party, a lot of friends and a lot of fun!
