Elopement Palazzo Cavalli Venice – An Intimate Wedding in Venice
Imagine taking a flight from Australia, where you were born and raised, to Italy, where your family comes from.
Imagine being on that flight with your fiancé, your mother, and your father.
Imagine arriving in Venice, being out for a fancy dinner, looking at your parents’ eyes and telling them: mom, dad, John and I are getting married tomorrow. Do you want to be our witnesses?
This is the story of everything that happened from that moment on. Enjoy 🙂
Both Nat and John are born from families of Italian immigrants to Australia. They were born there and came to Italy very few times to see the country that raised their own parents.
They always had Italy on their mind: when John proposed to Nat they had a great engagement party in Australia and started dreaming about eloping.
The occasion came a few months later: Nat’s parents had no idea their family holiday to Italy would start with their daughter’s wedding!
My day with Nat and John begun and ended at the amazing Isola delle Rose, at the Marriott Hotel. There, the two got dressed separately inside one of the front-sea suites.
They planned to get to Venice via water taxi, and wanted their first look to be private and intimate: they first saw each other in the center of the olive garden of the island. So, so cute!
They met Nat’s parents as well and they all took a water taxi to Palazzo Cavalli, where they had their wedding ceremony. They were so happy and in love, just amazing!
After the wedding, we stopped for a drink and some rest. It was an incredibly hot day – it was August 4th – and we totally needed a refreshing break!
We had some photos around Venice, took a Gondola and immersed in the beauty of the city.
Later we came back to Isola delle Rose: John took his jacket off (he was a hero for keeping it on the whole day, I have to say that!) and they could finally enjoy a cold glass of wine in the romantic sunset light.
I love intimate weddings in Venice and around the world, so cozy and special!
