Our day with Elisa and Paul began where she was accommodated, at the Hotel Giorgione. There she was waiting for us with her mother, her aunt, and her witness – you could feel their excitement!

One thing I found lovely was how this beautiful family welcomed us: Elisa’s mum greeted us with a sweet smile and a warm hug, even if she never saw us before. Surely, a hug is a great way to start a day!

Elisa and Paul wrote each other two love letters and read them the morning of the wedding before reaching the church. Such a beautiful moment, so full of love!

The wedding dress Elisa was wearing for her wedding was her mother’s one, and she helped her wearing it. I imagine she was seeing herself in Elisa, remembering her own special day that occurred many years before.

Elisa reached the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli together with her mother, her father and her witness; Paul was already waiting for them in the church, happy and excited, together with their friends and relatives.

Elisa and Paul climbed the stairs leading to the altar together, hand in hand, with excited smiles and shiny eyes.

The Catholic ceremony was celebrated by the English priest of the church, and friends and relatives coming from Australia and Italy made the celebration of their love even more special.

After the mass, Elisa and Paul had a romantic gondola ride and then went to Burano with their witnesses and parents for a family lunch.

In Burano, we went to the shop and museum of the Merletto (the typical crochet of Burano) named after Emilia Burano, and we saw a ninety-years-old lady crocheting.

Elisa, Paul, and their family had lunch in the amazing Ristorante Riva Rosa, a few steps away; there the bride and the groom enjoyed a sorbetto in the Altana, the typical Venetian terrace on the roof with an amazing view on Burano.

After the lunch we came back to Venice for the evening party in the amazing Hotel Bauer; after having had their first dance and having cut the cake, Elisa and Paul changed their outfit to be ready for the dinner and dances of the night – they danced and sang typical Italian songs, of course!

Congratulazioni to this beautiful couple!
